Shannon was born and raised in Spanish Fork, Utah. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School. She attended Utah Valley University where she graduated with her associate’s degree in political science and history. She then graduated from the University of Utah with her Bachelor’s degree in mass communications with an emphasis in public relations in 2003.
Shannon then moved to Roswell, New Mexico where she worked for the Roswell Daily Record covering the 2004 presidential election for the newspaper. In 2005, she began working for the Environment Planning Group, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah as a public involvement specialist. She also was a freelance community reporter for the Deseret News.
In 2007, Shannon took some time off to raise her family. She lives in Henderson, Nevada with her five kids and enjoys reading, writing, singing, and hiking.
Shannon has been working for Jerez Law since 2019.
