Jessica Leyva was born and raised in the border town of El Paso, Texas. Jessica attended the University of Texas at El Paso. She was one of five students from the entire university selected to receive a COR scholarship which would allow her to study with some of the leading professors in the field of Legal Psychology. She graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2006.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Jessica decided to merge her love for psychology and the law and attended the Texas Tech School of Law. Throughout law school, Jessica competed in multiple mock trials, served as the President of the Health Law Society and Vice President of the Hispanic Law School Association. She received her Juris Doctorate in May of 2011.
After law school, Jessica moved to Las Vegas to begin her career as a plaintiff’s personal injury lawyer. She was admitted to the Nevada Bar and the United States District Court, District of Nevada in 2012. Since then, she has focused her legal career in area of personal injury. Jessica is also fluent in Spanish and has successfully represented many Spanish-speaking-only clients. Jessica joined Jerez Law in 2024.
In her free time, Jessica enjoys traveling back to Texas to spend time with her family.
